Cosmos
by Heather Sager
The stray fox
runs at gloaming—
moving fast amid the realm
of sunset macadam.
Frogs croak in darkling woods
and people sitting separately alone
glow in television light
or kitchen low-light flicker
and feel the pulse
beating at sensation’s edges.
It feels huge,
this cosmos between us.
