Brooke Gander is a mixed-race Indigenous artist living and creating in Edmonton Alberta. After growing up in Moose Jaw, SK she has lived in many locations across Saskatchewan and Alberta, living for a time in over 20 different houses. This travel and almost nomadic lifestyle have given her a wide variety of inspiration for her artwork. Her artwork is influenced by both her search for connection to her indigenous heritage and her experiences in everyday Canadian Culture. Gander is currently happily stationary when not traveling with her friend and boss, Author and fellow Visual Artist, Alexis Marie Chute. She is currently working on a series of anatomical hearts with different colors representing a variety of themes.
